Acupressure

Acupressure – How does it work?

Acupressure is a form of treatment that involves suppressing certain points on the body with the radius, finger books or palms and sometimes by using elbows or feet to relieve pain, reduce stress and generally promote people’s health. Also developed in China around 5,000 years ago, Acupressure is part of a holistic system of traditional Chinese medicine which also includes acupuncture, but the use of acupressure precedes acupuncture use of around 2,500 years.

Of course in the US you will find that acupressure is mostly used to relieve pain, reduce stress and increase and overall well-being. While in China you will find that it is more likely to be used as a first form of aid. Even most of China by practicing this form of care to themselves or on their own families to treat many things every day such a cold, headache, painful muscles and even drunk. However, they will consult with specialists for more complicated problems or diseases.

Although many people prefer to visit trained therapists to get their acupressure treatments, the techniques that have been studied can be done on not only yourself by your friends and family.
Acupressure works by helping to release clogged energy in a person’s body with certain points stimulation (acupoints) along 14 main meridians of the body (energy channel). By pressing strongly and continuously on the right acupoint can help promote the flow of energy to certain parts of the body that experiences disease or discomfort and helps it to heal it easier. As stated earlier Acupressure usually only uses acupressurist hands (sometimes legs or elbows) to restore body balance (or GI / Chi).

Although Western Science has not been able to find evidence that the meridian (energy channel) really exists in the body, a number of studies show that by suppressing acupoint releasing endorphins (natural pain relief drugs).

When treatment is done, which can usually last from 15 minutes to about 1 hour, depending on the severity of the patient’s problem, an acupuncture will arrange so they sit or lie on the massage table. You might find that your acupuncture expert will carry out care through your clothes, while others might ask you to open clothes, but they will protect you with towels while carrying out care.

After you settle acupunctur experts will find and then work on specific acupoint that specifically relate to your condition, by pressing the point behind your knees that can help deal with back pain or by pressing the point at the top of the foot, which helps alleviate pain caused by migraine.

Acupuncture experts will usually press at any point for about 3 to 10 seconds, or in some cases longer and they can press and release these points repeatedly. But if you find that the problem has not responded to treatment after about 20 to 30 minutes, then maybe because Acupressure is not effective or ineffective or ineffective for certain problems you have.

However, after being treated, you might find that you feel more relaxed and more loose and even though you might experience some pain, you shouldn’t feel pain. Usually in 3 to 8 visits to acupuncture you must know if the treatment functions for you.
